Colmar, in Alsace France, near the border of Germany, is a lovely and unique, charming, medieval town, part of the “Route des vins” the wine route you must do, if you love wine, like Riesling and Gewürztraminer which are their specialties.
I visited various towns in Alsace that are similar as Colmar, but this one was my favorite. I went to Eguishem, Rebauvillé, Kaysersberg, and Turckheim, they are extremely beautiful.
If you are doing this route, I recommend sleeping in Colmar, and drive to see the other little towns, they are very small, in 4 days you can see all of them, you will love them.
I stayed in the hotel Le Maréchal, it is shown in the picture, it is a five star hotel, important celebrities have stayed there when they go to Colmar, like the French DJ David Guetta.
Colmar has medieval traditional houses, canals, floral displays, delicious food and like I mentioned before great local wines. It is unique.
You will easily fall in love with this enchanting country- town.
